Where to find Nopon Ponspectors in Future Connected

When you progress through the story of Future Connected, you will be forced to go into a gate where a nopon will tell you about a crew of nopon ponspectors.

Why bother finding them in the first place?

It’s an optional sidequest, but finding them will allow you to unlock a super-move that will significantly damage an enemy when you have three bars of your gauge available. We were able to use the nopon supermove called the “Ponspector Union Strike” to defeat the final boss in just one hit, just to give an example. 

The first step is to progress the story a little to meet the first nopon ponspector, Ponspector Tentoo, who will give you some nopon ponspector locations immediately.

Although you can unlock their locations on the map, you don’t have to go in any order. So the first nopon ponspector is Tentoo and you automatically run into him in the main story. 

The second nopon ponspector is Tei Tei, and when you approach the following marker you will unlock the Tei Tei Lacking Charm quest.

To complete the quest Tei-Tei Lacking Charm, you need to go into Nerthis Necropolis and get the charm, which will be a red sparkle behind a tomb near the entrance of the dungeon.

You may need to kill a few spider enemies or you can try to sneak past them by tilting the analog stick slightly. You may need to keep jumping to get behind the tomb where the charm is situated. 

Return to Tei Tei to recruit him.

The third nopon ponspector is located after Tentoo, the first nopon ponspector that you encountered. Just go past the gate and turn to the left to find Evelen.

This will unlock the “Evelen on the Edge” sidequest. To complete it, you just need to kill the fish enemies in the lake behind the nopon. You can’t attack while a character is in a full swimming animation, so it’s best to pull and lure the enemies near the shore where below your torso is covered in water, so you can actually attack them. After defeating them, Evelen will join and that will be your third nopon ponspector.

The next nopon ponspector is Fofora who gives the sidequest “Favour for Fofora”, the location is marked below:

You will need to defeat 3 Kromar enemies in Xen’s Thoroughfare:

After reporting to the nopon, Fofora will move and you will need to follow her mark to a new location, and talk to her once more to recruit her.

The next nopon ponspector is Faifa, you will see her marker location if you found the aforementioned nopon ponspectors, but you might have difficulty getting to it. You just need to go underneath bridges, as shown in the illustration below:

You will acquire the sidequest “Riddle Faifa This”. You just need to defeat enemies behind the nopon, but unless you have fall resistance you will need to take the long way around to get to the enemies, or you can try killing your characters on purpose to respawn at a previous checkpoint since death has no penalty in Xenoblade. 

After reporting back to Faifa, you will recruit him. That’s 5/12 nopon ponspectors. 

The next nopon ponspector is Deka-Deka, located below. You need to find an entrance to a cave, then stick to the left side to find a cliff leading out of the cave.

All you need to do is rescue him by defeating the enemies surrounding him, and the quest will be marked as completed afterwards. 

The next nopon ponspector is Nonona, who gives the sidequest “Nonona’s Calling”. You need to find a ramp leading to the “lower area” of the map:

Nonona’s Calling is the hardest nopon ponspector sidequest to complete except for the final nopon prospector quest boss. 

The first issue is that you need to defeat Thing-a-Majicker XIII. It’s located in the cave/dungeon in the northwest portion of the map, called the Zekr Marga Quarry, at the end of the cave.

Your best bet is to go through the dungeon slowly and carefully. Sometimes pulled enemies return to their location, BUT, they’ll probably keep chasing you within the dungeon when you get to Thing-a-Majicker XIII, and you don’t want other enemies to attack you while you’re fighting Thing-a-Majicker XIII!

So kill all enemies slowly and carefully and make your way to the ending of the dungeon. There is a difficult spider boss beforehand called Caustic Naquatra that you will likely need to defeat, as well as Director Arachno. Try pulling enemies to the entrance of the dungeon one-by-one and work slowly through. I say work slowly because if you die, all enemies respawn! 

Here’s the catch: Thing-a-Majicker XIII will always stand next to Ravager Apelpisia. All the other enemies in the dungeon are not so bad, but Ravager Apelpisia was able to easily hit me, each strike over 1000+ damage, and was always able to demolish me within seconds.

You can’t pull Thing-a-Majicker XIII from Ravager Apelpisia easily, but I did find an easy trick to beat Thing-a-Majicker XIII. Pull Ravager Apelpisia away, and go out of his range so that he’s forced to return to his spawn point.

As he is returning to his spawn point his AI will be wonky, quickly pull Thing-a-Majicker XIII away now and defeat Thing-a-Majicker XIII with your most powerful moves as Ravager Apelpisia starts moving towards you and starts hitting you.

You should be able to defeat Thing-a-Majicker XIII just before Ravager Apelpisia kills you. That’s fine, as long as you defeat Thing-a-Majicker XIII!

Return to Nonona to recruit her. If you followed our guide, you will now unlock the Ponspector Union Strike move, it’s extremely powerful, but to power it up even more finish the nopon ponspector sidequest!

The next is Set-Set who gives the sidequest “Ready, Setset, Go!”

This just involves killing enemies across the bridge, it involves a lot of running around. There are 4 nopon ponspectors left!

Next is Dry-Dry, you need to go to Alcamoth. This means you need to progress the main story of Future Connected, Alcamoth is in a teleporter just past the bridges.

You get the sidequest “Dry-dry Entia”, you just need to head left and collect red sparkles on the ground.

Next nopon ponspector is Tutu.

You need to head past the eastern gate and have unlocked Grand Dell City, which requires progressing the storyline up to a certain point:

You need to find a collectable for him.

We had to fight Citadel Tostega (but it may be possible to sneak past that enemy and just collect the red sparkle), use your newly unlocked nopon union strike if you have trouble. 

Return to Tutu to recruit him. Watch out for the herons (Terpsichorean Cenoth), sometimes one will randomly aggro and then all of them will attack you at once.

Just one nopon prospector left!

Wun-wun is just outside Gran Dell city in plain site, to recruit him you need to recruit all other nopon ponspectors, which you have done!

You will unlock the Ponspectors Till We Cry sidequest. You will need to go to Nerthis Necropolis to find treasure, and fight a large dinosaur boss named Prosecutor Davrum.

Try to get as much of his health down, then finish him off with a union strike. You will unlock a nifty crown for Melia! Congratulations!
