How to solve the chess piece puzzle in Little Nightmares 2

First thing’s first, you need to enter the room with the chess puzzle, so put the circular piece on top of the chess piece (it makes it the “rook” chess piece), then use it as a stepping stone to jump up to the door.

Afterwards, move to the right, and jump onto the projector screen to pull it up. Behind it reveals the solution for the chess pieces. It basically shows the white queen piece on  the left, the white king piece in the middle, and the white rook piece on the right.

Go more to the right to find the queen piece on top of a desk. You can jump up, and take the top off of the queen piece and bring it with you to the chess board.

To get the white king piece, it’s on top of a desk to the left of the chessboard. Remember the rook outside of the door? Go back out to the door and bring the rook top piece with you, then put it temporarily onto the left white piece on the board, and use it as a stepping stone to grab the king top as shown below.

All that’s left is to put the pieces in the correct positions. The king piece which has a cross on top needs to go to the middle piece. The queen piece, which is like a crown, goes to the top-left. The rook piece, which is the flat circular like a coin, goes to the right. Nothing goes on the bottom-left white chess piece.

The correct configuration is shown below, and when you do the solution the light will turn on to the right, and you can again use the rook on the right as a stepping stone to get to the light, then hang from the light to proceed onwards.
