These guides take a significant amount of time and effort to make, and anything that can be given is extremely appreciated.

Any Weapon can use any skill now!

One major change in Disgaea 6 is that you can equip any weapon and use any skill. In the past, you’d have to equip certain weapons to use certain skills.

So you may want to be careful which stats you train because certain weapons depend on certain stats or combinations of stats. Average of stats is just the sum of them divided by two.

One big misconception I’ve seen is that people think recovery spells rely on your INT stat, but it actually relies on your RES stat, and has been since Disgaea 2.

How Weapons, Spells, and Special Skills Correspond to Certain Stats

Bare-handed or Fist – Average of Attack and Speed Stats

Sword – Attack Stat

Spear – Attack Stat

Bow – Average of Attack and Hit Stats

Gun – Average of Speed and Hit Stats

Axe – Attack Stat

Wand – Intelligence Stat

Offensive Spells – Intelligence Stat

Recovery Spells – Resistance Stat

But if you’re still not sure, check the Special Skill itself from your Character Status or in the Skill Shop and it will show you which stats the Special Skill corresponds to. Sometimes Evilities may change which stats correspond to which weapons/skills, so keep an eye out.

Remember that, in general, DEF reduces damage from physical attacks, RES reduces damage from offensive magic attacks, SPD increases your evasion, and HIT increases your accuracy.

So if you have low HIT, you’re more likely to miss when attacking an enemy. Sometimes you’ll “nick!” an enemy, causing significantly less damage.

If you have low SPD, you’re more likely to get hit by an attacking enemy.

So do not neglect training certain stats!
