To navigate the Alivel Mall correctly, at the first route split choose the hamburger route, and at the second route split choose the upper-left most cake route.
Don’t even think about going into the other routes and backing out, if you do that then you won’t get the Waddle Dee for Navigate the Mall Without Getting Lost. You need to only go through the correct routes to get that Waddle Dee.
As well, the third doughnut is in the upper-left most cake route, so you need to do that to get all the doughnuts.
The first doughnut is in plain sight, the second doughnut is on a sparkle in the square of conveyer belts, the third donut is in the upper-left cake route as a sparkle, and the fourth doughnut is on top of a ladder next to the finish star. See images below:
