Your dialog choices are important with Akechi, and you do need a matching arcana persona when talking to Akechi for a bonus. The exceptions are Rank 0→1 and Rank 9→10, where dialog choices and matching arcana persona don’t matter. Note that you need to rank up Justice yourself, and then later ranks come automatically.
