Your dialog choices are important with Kawakami, and you do need a matching arcana persona when talking to Kawakami for a bonus. The exceptions are Rank 0→1 and Rank 9→10, where dialog choices and matching arcana persona don’t matter. Note that you need to wait until the Maid Watch event in May or so before you can start this confidant. Unlike other confidants, you need to interact with the phone in LeBlanc to invite Kawakami over.
