Guide on Getting Hardcore Risette Fan Achievement/Trophy Easily!
This is a guide specifically for the achievement/trophy “Hardcore Risette Fan“. It’s generally hardest achievement to get and it’s very missable (one chance per playthrough, if you don’t get it, you need likely to restart your progress through an entire playthrough).
I will NOT have any storyline spoilers contained in this guide! My purpose for creating this specific guide is that I want to stop the spread of misinformation regarding the achievement!
ANALYZING LINES (lines of dialogue she says when you specifically analyze an enemy by selecting analyze in the menu) DON’T COUNT! It needs to be the lines of dialogue that Risette just randomly says by herself!
Simple Tricks to Follow to get Hardcore Risette Fan Achievement Easily
So to summarize right now how get the Hardcore Risette Fan more easily:
- Play on at least Normal or a higher difficulty
- Remain a bit underleveled (DO NOT OVERLEVEL) until you’re near the end of the game and are sure you’ve gotten many of Rise’s lines
- In the “secret lab” dungeon (6th dungeon), farm for as many lines as you can as you explore it, make sure you’re not overleveled! (See video below for how to do this!)
- Meet the requirements for the extra dungeon: max Marie’s social link before January, romance is NOT required, you’ll get a dream in January, afterwards talk to Margaret in the Velvet Room, and you will automatically go to the extra dungeon during the skiing event. You will get a bunch of new enemies AND a bonus boss that has a unique line of dialogue.
Full Explanation on why these tricks are needed
To get the achievement, you just need to “hear 250 of Rise’s navigation lines”. It sounds easy, but it’s surprisingly not. These are the lines of dialogue that Rise says during the course of the battle.
If you don’t follow these numbered tricks above, you can potentially make getting the achievement difficult. If you’re a well-seasoned Persona player, you’ll actually find this achievement tricky to get because you’re breezing through the game.
Whereas, if you’re a player that struggles through it and you’re constantly underleveled and getting hit with ailments, you’ll actually get the achievement much more easily. This sounds odd, but I will explain this thoroughly.
The lines MUST be unique to count! As you play through the game, certain lines are missable. There are lines for being underleveled, overleveled, each character getting each kind of ailment, lines while fighting a unique boss, etc.
For example, if you’re underleveled Rise will say something like “WOW the enemies are powerful!”, whereas if you’re overleveled she’ll say “Man, what weaklings!”, but I will note that there are more variants of the underleveled dialogue compared to the overleveled dialogue.
BUT, notice how I said “some kinds” of lines are missable? For example, if you’re constantly overleveled, then you’ll never get the “underleveled” dialogue, and if you overlevel too much, then you might never be able to find enemies your level for the rest of the game.
Yes, you can revisit old dungeons, but when you’re overleveled you can’t “farm for lines” as easily and it will be too late by then. It’s extremely difficult to farm lines at the end of the game and there ISN’T much wiggle room.
If you played Persona 5, there’s a very similar trophy where you need to listen to a certain number of the navigator’s lines, but in that game they purposely gave you a lot of extra wiggle room. I didn’t count, but there’s probably easily more than double the amount of dialogue lines available than what you actually need in Persona 5. But in P4G, however, there aren’t that many unique lines of dialogue.
I strongly recommend spending some time fighting enemies, getting hit with aliments, and running away often to not level up too much.
Once you’re certain you’ve gotten many lines (after the “evil lab” dungeon, which is the 6th dungeon, but you can wait longer if you want), then you can overlevel and get the “overleveled” dialogue.
What other kinds of lines can you miss? Well, you can technically get the achievement on any difficulty mode, BUT, it’s much easier to get the achievement if you play on normal difficulty or higher.
DO NOT play on Safety mode if you want the Hardcore Risette trophy, you will be constantly overleveled because the game applies an experience multiplier to help you out, but you’ll be missing many lines as a result.
Same with Easy mode, I really recommend going on at least Normal mode, but if you choose a higher difficulty you can get the achievement more easily.
So try to squeeze as many lines as you go through the game, and when you reach the Secret Laboratory dungeon specifically, constantly keep fighting enemies, getting hit with status ailments, and running away.
The Secret Laboratory dungeon is one of the best because the enemies will constantly be hitting you and your allies with status ailments and debuffs, yielding many unique lines of dialogue from Rise. I have a video demonstration above showing how to purposely grind for the Hardcore Risette trophy using that dungeon.
People accidentally spread misinformation, such as saying that the difficulty doesn’t affect how easily you can get the trophy. But that’s not true! On higher difficulties the enemies will spam more status ailments towards you! If they’re spamming more ailments, that’s easily more of Rise’s dialogue you can get! There’s dialog for each character for each kind of ailment which adds up to dozens of easy dialog lines to get.
It also may be possible that if you’re underleveled, you will get ailments to stick on you more often. I have tried in the past to get hit with ailments on an overleveled character, and even though my personas would have absolutely no immunities, it was more difficult to get ailments to stick!
To clear up more misinformation, progress for the Hardcore Risette Fan achievement DOES NOT CARRY OVER BETWEEN PLAYTHROUGHS! People will say otherwise, but they’re wrong!
For example, when I got the trophy, I did a regular playthrough with no achievement, then I played through the game again on NG+ and got the achievement past the Laboratory dungeon, which is about where you should get the trophy normally.
If progress carried over, there should be at least some people would be able to get the achievement much earlier on because they found a unique line early on in the game they didn’t get before, but you don’t hear a story where that is the case.
I am 100% certain that all unique line progress is removed when going to NG+. I’ve played through P4G on the Vita about 5 times with different PSN accounts because I’d help my friends through the game, invite friends over, play through even more times, etc., and they probably didn’t change the programming when porting the game to Steam as well.
Just follow the numbered steps and you’ll be good for this trophy!
