Your dialog choices are important with Kasumi, and you do need a matching arcana persona when talking to Kasumi for a bonus. The exceptions are Rank 0→1 and Rank 9→10, where dialog choices and matching arcana persona don’t matter.
NOTE: You can only progress the Faith confidant to rank 5 early on. You can progress it from 5 to 10 in January when playing the new Royal month added to the game. You unlock rank 1 on May 30 automatically.
