Having trouble with the naming scheme of SMT spells/skills? We have a list of all of the skills in the game Shin Megami Tensei V.

We will note if any of these skills are exclusive to a demon (cannot be inherited when the demon is fused) or if they are Magatsuhi exclusive skills. The MP cost listed is for the base cost only, if your demon has positive affinity the skill will cost less, and if your demon has negative affinity it’ll cost more.

In terms of damage, Severe > Heavy > Medium > Light.

In general instant kill doesn’t work on boss or miniboss type enemies. If a skill “Pierces”, it will hit the enemy, even if the enemy nulls/reflects/absorbs the element (in the past SMT’s Pierce wouldn’t pierce through reflect, now it does).

If a skill says it randomly hits multiple times and you only have 1 enemy left, it can hit the 1 enemy multiple times, so although these skills are not powerful, they can be handy if you keep hitting the boss multiple times.

New to SMT are physical-scaling elemental attacks which will be noted. Instead of only spells being able to be elemental, now physical skills can be elemental too and as you’d think they scale with the Strength instead of the Magic stat. Some skills will also scale based on the user’s level and will be noted.

Physical Skills

• Lunge (5 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy

• Critical Slash (10 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (high chance of critical)

• Dream Needle (10 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (chance of inflicting Sleep ailment on the enemy)

• Gram Slice (10 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (high chance of critical)

• Madness Needle (10 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (chance of inflicting Panic ailment on the enemy )

• Toxic Sting (10 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (chance of inflicting Poison ailment on the enemy)

• Berserker God (15 MP): Light Physical damage to 1 enemy (high chance of critical)

• Heat Wave (15 MP): Medium Physical damage to all enemies

• Critical Wave (25 MP): Light Physical damage to all enemies (high chance of critical)

• Damascus Claw (24 MP): Medium Physical damage to 1 enemy (2-3 hits to 1 enemy)

• Mortal Jihad (30 MP): Heavy Physical damage to 1 enemy

• Rampage (35 MP): Medium Physical damage to 1 or more enemies (2-5 hits to random enemies, low hit rate)

• Nihil Claw (36 MP): Heavy Physical damage to 1 enemy (2-3 hits to 1 enemy)

• Brave Blade (45 MP): Heavy Physical damage to 1 enemy (If it’s a critical, it will do more damage than usual)

• Hell Thrust (45 MP): Heavy Physical damage to 1 enemy with Pierce effect applied

• Akasha Arts (50 MP): Heavy Physical damage to 1 enemy (If it’s a critical, it will do more damage than usual)

• Megaton Press (50 MP): Heavy Physical damage to all enemies (Low hit rate)

• Hades Blast (60 MP): Heavy Physical damage to all enemies

• Titanomachia (60 MP): Medium Physical damage to all enemies (high chance of critical)

• Catastrophe (74 MP): Severe Physical damage to 1 enemy

Fire Skills

• Agi (10 MP): Light Fire damage to 1 enemy

• Maragi (15 MP): Light Fire damage to all enemies

• Agilao (20 MP): Medium Fire damage to 1 enemy

• Maragion (35 MP): Medium Fire damage to all enemies

• Agidyne (35 MP) : Heavy Fire damage to 1 enemy

• Maragidyne (50 MP): Heavy Fire damage to all enemies

• Agibarion (50 MP): Severe Fire damage to 1 enemy

• Maragibarion (75 MP): Severe Fire damage to all enemies

• Trisagion (65 MP): Heavy Fire damage to 1 enemy with Pierce effect applied

Ice Skills

• Bufu (10 MP) : Light Ice damage to 1 enemy

• Mabufu (15 MP): Light Ice damage to all enemies

• Bufula (20 MP): Medium Ice damage to 1 enemy

• Mabufula (35 MP): Medium Ice damage to all enemies

• Bufudyne (35 MP): Heavy Ice damage to 1 enemy

• Hama (15 MP): Light Light damage to 1 enemy, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• Mahama (25 MP): Light Light damage to all enemies, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• Hamaon (25 MP): Heavy Light damage to 1 enemy, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• Mahamaon (40 MP): Heavy Light damage to all enemies, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• Hamabarion (55 MP): Severe Light damage to 1 enemy, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• Mahamabarion (80 MP): Severe Light damage to all enemies, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light

• White Dracostrike (25 MP): Medium Light damage to 1 enemy (Damage scales as a Physical Attack) (chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Light)

Dark Skills

• Mudo (15 MP): Light Dark damage to 1 enemy, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Dark

• Mamudo (25 MP): Light Dark damage to all enemies, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Dark

• Mudoon (25 MP): Heavy Dark damage to 1 enemy, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Dark

• Mamudoon (40 MP): Heavy Dark damage to all enemies, with chance of instant kill if enemy is weak to Dark

• Concentrate (10 MP): Deals 2.5x damage for the user’s next Magical Attack

• Critical Eye (25 MP): 100% chance of critical on the user’s next Physical Attack

• Makarakarn (50 MP): Repels the next Magic Attack (non-Almighty) on 1 ally

• Tetrakarn (50 MP): Repels the next Physical Attack (non-Almighty) on 1 ally

• Fire Block (40 MP): Nullifies the next Fire Attack on all allies

• Ice Block (40 MP): Nullifies the next Ice Attack on all allies

• Electric Block (40 MP): Nullifies the next Electric Attack on all allies

• Force Block (40 MP): Nullifies the next Force Attack on all allies

• Light Block (40 MP): Nullifies the next Light Attack on all allies

Other Skills (Passive Skills)

(These apply only to the demon that has the passive skill. They don’t have to be used in battle, they just need to be equipped to the demon.)

• Trafuri (6 MP): 100% chance of escaping a normal encounter

• Light Life Aid (Passive): Slightly restores HP after battle

• Life Aid (Passive): Significantly restores HP after battle

• Light Mana Aid (Passive): Slightly restores MP after battle

• Mana Aid (Passive): Significantly restores MP after battle

• Endure (Passive): Survive an attack that would’ve killed the user with 1 HP (once per battle)

• Enduring Soul (Passive): Survive an attack that would’ve killed the user with full HP (once per battle)

• Victory Cry (Passive): Restores all HP and MP of the user after each battle

• Watchful (Passive): Twice as much experience learned when the user is in stock
