Rune Factory 3 Special Edition releases September 5 on Nintendo Switch and PC
Rune Factory 3 Special, a remake of the original game, releaes on September 5 2023 on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
This new version of the game features Newlywed Mode, a set of standalone adventures unlocked after marriage to each of the game’s 11 eligible bachelorettes and a “Hell” difficulty level.
The Limited Edition bundle includes a 140-page A5 notebook, character stickers, Micah themed pin badges, a woven patch, an A3 poster, plus access to the in-game “Swimsuit Mode” allowing for characters to appear in their swimsuits year-round, all housed in a custom outer box featuring an original Rune Factory 3 Special illustration inspired by the game’s anime opening.
The Digital Deluxe version includes the exclusive “Swimsuit Mode” which unlocks summer bathing outfits for Micah and all marriage candidates all year-round. Pre-ordering before the launch date will also grant Ryker’s outfit (Rune Factory 5) for use with Micah.

Rune Factory 3 is a simulation role-playing video game that was first released in 2009 for the Nintendo DS handheld console. The game is set in a world where players assume the role of a protagonist who has lost their memory and must rebuild their life by tending to a farm, raising animals, crafting tools, and exploring the surrounding areas.
The game features a unique combination of farming simulation and dungeon-crawling RPG gameplay. Players can cultivate crops, raise livestock, and engage in social activities with the game’s non-playable characters (NPCs), as well as battle monsters in real-time combat in various dungeons. Some NPCs are marriage candidates, allowing you to marry them if you raise their friendship enough allowing the protagonist to change their life completely.
As players progress through the game, they can unlock new abilities, craft powerful weapons and items, and engage in romantic relationships with some of the game’s characters. The game also features multiple endings, depending on the choices the player makes throughout the game.
Rune Factory 3 received critical acclaim for its engaging gameplay, charming characters, and immersive world. It has since spawned several sequels and spin-offs on various platforms, including the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch.
