The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails releases fall 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is coming to the West in fall 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC.

This title is a spinoff of The Legend of Heroes (Trails) series. It was originally released in Japan in 2012 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld console. This Western release will have an English dub.

The game takes place in a world called Lost Heaven, where players assume the role of Nayuta Herschel (presumably unrelated to Towa Herschel), a young boy who embarks on a journey to uncover the secrets of his world and prevent a great catastrophe. The game features a unique action-based combat system that allows players to use a variety of attacks, spells, and special abilities to defeat enemies.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is praised in Japan for its gameplay, charming characters, and captivating storyline. The game takes elements from other games from the publisher such as the Ys and Zwei franchises. The action combat is similar to that in Ys, for example, and doesn’t feature the turn-based combat system seen in Trails games.

You can pre-order the Limited Edition for the Nintendo Swich or PS4 on the NIS America Online Store. In addition to the game, it comes with:

  • Starfall Symphonies” 2-Disc Original Soundtrack
  • “Endless Horizons” Hardcover Art Book
  • “Nayuta & Noi” Acrylic Figure
  • “Creha’s Cradle” Bookmark
  • “Realms Beyond” Lenticular Sleeve
  • Collector’s Box

You can learn more about the game’s lore and characters on the game’s website.

The character trailer is shown below:

In the meantime, check out our reviews of Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure.

The character trailer for Trails into Reverie has also been released.

There’s also a short story named III & IX that leads into Trails into Reverie, which NIS America have translated to English on the website. It is actually a book series within Trails of Cold Steel IV and it does have plot relevance in Trails into Reverie, so if you’d like to read them all again without replaying the game you can read them all at the Fandom Wiki.

2023 is a good year to be eating if you’re a Trails fan!
