Sword of Convallaria – Tips to get through Spirals of Destinies mode easily
In Sword of Convallaria there’s a mode called Spirals of Destinies that plays like a traditional tactical RPG (it’s the non-gacha mode). It has many different routes and endings which we’ve made a guide for, but no matter what you’ll have to play through the Spirals of Destinies mode many times if you want to see all the routes and endings.
It can be a slog to get through it, but if you want to rush through the mode or get to the various endings easily there’s many tricks to use:
How to get Keys of Destiny for free
To play through Spirals of Destinies you need to use up a Key of Destiny every chapter. You’re given some keys when you start the game, but you’ll need to use more and more as you progress through the modes and do new games (new cycles) to explore different routes.
You can buy these keys with real-life currency but if you explore the menus you can get these keys for free from just playing through Spirals of Destinies (you’ll acquire Hope Luxites which can then be used to purchase the keys).
Go into your base (exit Spirals of Destinies mode in the top-right corner if you’re in it) and go examine the bookcase for Destiny Traces. Or just click the top-left corner to access all the submenus.
Destiny Traces are like achievements you get from playing Spirals of Destinies and you’ll achieve many of them from playing the game naturally. There are two submenus – Emblem and Remembrance, click them and click on all the achievements to get free Hope Luxite. Remembrance itself also has tow submenus – Achievement and Performance. Go through all the individual images and click them and you’ll get a lot of Hope Luxite easily.
Also check your mailbox, you can complete a Sword of Convallaria Satisfaction Survey (5-10 minutes) for free Hope Luxite.
Check all the other menus for other ways to get free Hope Luxite for playing such as dailies (logging in quests).
When you have Hope Luxite, you can go to Shop, Exchange to trade in 100 Hope Luxite for 1 Destiny Key (for free). I found the best way to get them is to just keep playing new routes and new endings in Spirals of Destinies, there’s a lot of Remembrance scenes that give out a lot of Hope Luxtire.
Getting through Spirals of Destinies quickly tips
- Read the route ending guide I made first to make sure you can get the ending you want, but in general you only need to do the main missions of the game and the Darklight mandatory missions.
- The Darklight mandatory missions often happen when you’re forced to talk to an NPC in the city who tells you the Darklight is attacking his village. Then, when you go to the Optional Quest menu it will be on the top of the list with a red exclamation mark saying “There will be negative outcomes if you don’t complete this mission on time.” If you don’t do these you may get the early bad ending!
- There’s sometimes other optional Darklight missions without the exclamation mark or warning which aren’t needed.
- If you’re starting the game from Week 1, do reputation quests with the faction you want to join.
- You’ll often get bars to fill other tasks such as “Help maintain order” every few weeks. You don’t need to fill out these bars, they’re just for optional rewards.
- If you’re rushing through the game, you can pretty much skip any week that doesn’t have a mandatory mission. Just keep clicking Ignore in the bottom right corner to ignore the activities you don’t need and it’ll let you progress quickly. If you want to beat the game within 2-3 hours you need to do this.
- The town has many places to visit that help your characters out. But not all of them are equal and the time spent on these activities add up significantly.
- If you want to rush through the game, I found that you could pretty much skip the Luxite Workshop and Sanctuary entirely.
- You can use the Forge once in a while but generally I skipped it. If you see a treasure chest icon on the map next to a location it means a merchant is temporarily there. I found it best to just quickly check the merchant’s wares and just buy the expensive weapons from them rather than make the weapons in the forge. If you don’t invest a lot of time in the forge and don’t have good blueprints I found that the weapons I was making ended up being bad most of the time.
- Go to the Tavern to recruit Gold and Platinum classes that would be helpful.
- Haven is extremely important, make sure to rest the characters that need it!
- Training Ground is extremely important, recruit new Gold and Platinum classes and train them up to your max character level immediately. Always have units being trained because level is extremely important and can outclass abilities and equipment pretty quickly in this game mode. Training is cheap too!
- Dispatch Quests are extremely important, make sure someone is doing Logging Work and Escort the Caravans! You get free lumber and gold! Do the first Mercenary Silver Test (to unlock don’t restart missions early in the game), complete the Silver Test to unlock Logging Work 2 and Escort the Caravans 2, they will pay significantly more lumber and gold every few weeks! Just quickly recruit a Blue Seeker unit and Green Defender unit, train them above level 10 using the Training Ground and let them rest when they’re tired.
- If you’re doing for the Best King’s Army ending, you need over 30k gold, so in that case you’re better off just doing the Caravans dispatches only and not the Logging dispatches .
If you can’t beat a mission, you can lower its difficulty! Just click the top-left corner to get the mission details, Quit, Confirm, click to Use Fate’s Favor, and Retry. Then repeat this step over and over again! (Black bar is to avoid spoiler names.)
This lowers the difficulty significantly. It affects your ending rank, but if you don’t care about this just do it. You can end up with endgame bosses being level 2 while you’re level 40.
