30XX will release for the Nintendo Switch this September. It’s the sequel to Batterystaple Games’ acclaimed MegaRoguelite platformer, 20XX. This predecessor had over 4 million players.

30XX is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch next month, with the following release dates:

  • September 1st – Available on the Nintendo of America eShop
  • September 12th – Released on the Nintendo of Europe eShop
  • September 28th – Arriving on the Nintendo of Japan eShop

You play as two dynamic heroes: Nina, the ranged combat expert, and Ace, the melee-focused warrior. Fight malicious robots and turn them into bolts.

The gameplay loop will have a cycle of playing and dying until you conquer the levels and features modes such as Standard Mode or the permadeath-free Mega Mode. The latter offers an array of Assist options and strategically placed save points, ensuring you can confront challenges without the fear of irreversible setbacks.

You can play either solo or alongside a friend, with options for online or local co-op. Combine your Powers and Techniques strategically to thwart the relentless onslaught of mechanical foes.

Utilize Nina’s buster mods in inventive ways, using massive shotgun-like blasts or unleashing rapid-fire barrages. Ace’s Dolomite Link ensnares adversaries, setting them up for a crushing blow from the formidable Lara hammer.

You can also explore player crafted levels. The 30XX PC Community uses the very same level-creation tools employed by the game’s developers. Encounter everything from intricate, sprawling Metroidvania-style environments loaded with traps and sub-bosses, to lightning-fast speedrun challenges that demand quick reflexes.

The game is currently accessible through Steam Early Access at a price of $19.99 USD. 30XX offers language support in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified).

The full PC and Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for Q3 2023. The original soundtrack of 30XX can also be purchased separately for $9.99 USD.
